The Treasurer’s office oversees all of the financial operations for Lakewood City Schools, West Shore Career-Technical District, and Lakewood City Academy. The Treasurer serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Public Records Officer and reports directly to the Board of Education. Major functions of this department include the following:
 

Five-Year Forecasting   Payroll
Investments   Employee Benefits
Grants Management   Public Records
Accounts Receivable/Payable   Budgets/Appropriations
Fixed Assets Inventory   Insurance - Liability, Property, Fleet
Purchase Orders   Student Activities



The Treasurer also serves as Secretary to the Board of Education.

The Accounting Department processes approximately 10,000 purchase orders, 6000 deposits, and 8,500 accounts payables checks each year. They also work with District Staff to manage over 100 grants and more than 200 student activity accounts.

The Payroll Department handles all payroll aspects for approximately 1,100 full-time, part-time, and casual/seasonal employees, including all employees of Community Education and Recreation Department. This equates to approximately 28,600 paychecks each year. Payroll also facilitates the employee benefits insurance programs for slightly more than 700 enrolled participants.
